Finding your new you in 2020
As we settle into the new year making all our new years resolutions that we may or may not keep, Do you ever ask yourself why? Why I can’t stop smoking? Why I can’t lose the weight, why, why, why? The key words are why and can’t. First and foremost, stop questioning yourself and putting limitations on yourself. Take can’t out of your vocabulary moving forward and incorporate can and will more into your vocabulary. When a person can change their mindset and speak positive things into existence, they will manifest in life. Changing your mindset is one of the hardest things a person can do in life especially if they are around toxic people, places and things. Moving forward in the new year, you may have to drop those toxic friends. You may have to stop going to the old places you use to go and get rid of those bad habits. I know it is a process for us all and I will never give advice that I’m not willing to take myself. Think to yourself what you want to do, what you want to change and why? Take baby steps to start working on your goals. Don’t blame yourself if you don’t accomplish them right away. Don’t be discouraged by your failures and began looking at your failures as a learning experience and learn the lesson that it was meant to teach you. I know all too well how life challenges and obstacles can discourage you. But remember, you only have a testimony if you have gone through the test. Moving forward in finding your new you start within and manifest outward. Show your change and transformation with a brand that represents those very principles i.e enlightment, transformation, uniqueness, empowerment and diversity. Represent your new you by wearing a brand that promotes individuality and enlightenment for change. From all of us at the DREAD IX team, Happy New Year and remember be true to yourself.
Getting to Know your self-worth in 2020
Self-worth, that is the question. What is self-worth? I think self-worth is different for everyone. Some people may measure their self-worth based on their income, how much they do for others, how hard they may work. Whatever the case may be, self-worth to me is more about loving myself and being happy with myself. A person can’t measure their worth by having things because things comes and goes but their accomplishments within and the love they have for themselves can never be taken away. Think about it, if you don’t love yourself, who the hell is gonna love ya. As a mother and a wife, I am always doing things for others. At times, I get so overwhelmed and I feel like I can’t breathe. I know what I am worth to my family but sometimes forget what I’m worth to myself. Its ok to take a break and to be selfish sometimes. It doesn’t make me any less of a good person. I know that I am a queen and deserve to be treated like one, but it has taken me a long time to know my value. Lack of self-worth can cause low self-esteem and depression among other things. As a mental health therapist and life coach, I have seen all too well the effects that low self-worth causes. To improve your self-worth, do things to make you feel accomplish. If you want to go back to school, get that new job, spend more time with love one, etc. then do it. Make yourself feel better by spending that hard earn money on yourself instead of everyone else. When I want to put a little bounce in my step to feel a little more confident, I go shopping. The barriers of a procrastinator. How to change those dreams into reality
We know all to well about procrastination. We’ve set so many goals for myself and never seem to accomplish all the things I want to. Don’t get me wrong, we do accomplish some goals, but I am not where we want to be in certain aspects of my life. Why do we procrastinate so much? It could be we’re just tired, become lazy, overwhelmed by family and life obstacles or just our lack of drive. People always say, “we are our worst enemy” and I believe that to be so true. In 2020, I have begun looking at my dreams as my reality. Dreams are given to us because they are things that we should be doing in life. Stop selling yourself short and stop thinking you can do it and start knowing you can do it.
Self-positive reinforcement is a powerful tool that we don’t always utilize. Stop listening to toxic people that tell you that you can’t do something. If you are around people that always have something negative to say, you need to drop them. As you become more enlighten, your circle of friends will become far and in between. In order to move forward in life, you have to eliminate toxic things around you and surround yourself with positive energy. Remember it’s all about your mindset. Once you are able to change your mindset, your potential is unlimited. Stop being afraid of challenges. Without challenges, there is no reward.
If you know that you have a tendency to procrastinate, that is great. If you are aware of something, you have the ability to change it. Take baby steps in your new journey to accomplish your goals. Make realistic goals and expectations for yourself. When we set the bar too high, we have a tendency to give up and the goals never gets accomplished. Once you are able to accomplish the small goals, you’re more likely to get to your larger goals. Don’t be discouraged by not accomplishing your goals right away and remember, you’re only a failure if you fail to stop trying.
Manifesting you full potential in 2020
Trying to manifest your full potential can be difficult at times especially if you don’t have a clue of what your potentials are. We have a tendency to put limitations of things we can and can not do. When I think of full potential, the movie “Limitless” comes in mind, which was about unlocking your full brain potential. A person can’t manifest their full potential if they put on limitations. You can be a doctor, lawyer, homemaker, teacher, etc. but are you the best doctor, lawyer, homemaker, teacher, etc.? If the answer is no, then you have some work to do. Identify your talents, interest and hobbies. These are GOD given gifts and he gave them to you for a reason. A lot of times we do what we want to do more than doing what we are supposed to do. Sometimes we have to give in to allow our blessing to come forward. Manifest your full potential by not thinking you can do it but knowing you can do it. Boost your inner peace through meditation, building confidence through self-love and self-talk. Put time into yourself. Your have to think of yourself as the product. For example, the next time you go on that interview, prepare beforehand, know what your going to say, be confident in what you know and look the part. Self-motivation and perfecting your talents is a powerful tool that know one can take away from you. Once you nail that interview or whatever endeavor you may embark on, go home, give yourself a pat on the back and relax in comfort with some DREAD IX gear. A brand that empower others to empower themselves. Become a part of the DREAD IX family by subscribing @DREAD IX and like us/share on Facebook, Twitter and IG.
